How to Operate Aquaknight SP29 Reef Aquarium Light

The SPECTRAQUA SP20 LED Aquarium Light is a next-generation 20W smart aquarium light available in three versions: marine, freshwater, and refugium, ideal for nano aquariums up to 30 gallons (50L); the saltwater version meets the lighting needs of corals and marine invertebrates, the freshwater version caters to fish and aquatic plants in freshwater tanks, and the refugium version stands out with its ideal spectral output, promoting healthy algae growth to support nutrient export in aquarium systems, while all versions feature dual independent dimming channels and 10 brightness levels for tailored light intensity, 3 timer settings to simulate natural cycles, and an IP65 waterproof rating for safe use in humid environments—perfect for nano tanks under 30 gallons, blending functionality and durability for optimal aquatic lighting.

To get started, follow the steps below

  1. Mount the light to your aquarium using the built in gooseneck mount secure the screws firmly.
  2. Plug the power supply into your light, then plug the power supply into the wall, in that order.
  3. Press the power button to turn your light on or off.
  4. Adjust the intensity and color spectrum by pressing A or B. Each press changes the output by 10%.
  5. If desired, set the timer to 6, 8, or 10 hours by pressing the clock icon,1, 2, or 3 times. Make sure you set this at your desired on time. The light will auto matically run for the prescribed time each day.
For example, if you set your light to 6 hours at 9:00 AM, it will shut off at 3:00 PM, then turn back on at 9:00 AM the next day.
